How to register and use Hello Money
  • How to register (new user)

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Select your preferred language
    3. Select Option 1: Self registration (Only for Absa customers)
    4. Enter branch code
    5. Select branch name
    6. Enter account number
    7. Press 1 to accept terms and conditions
    8. Enter date of birth digits as requested
    9. Enter card number digits as requested
    10. Enter debit card’s expiry date in format MMYY
    11. Receive confirmation screen of successful registration
    12. Temporary mobile banking PIN will be sent to your device via SMS
  • How to change PIN

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter temporary mobile banking PIN
    3. Enter new PIN
    4. Re-enter new PIN
    5. You will see a confirmation screen of successful PIN change

How to add a beneficiary
  • Airtime top up

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Choose main menu option
    4. Select buy Airtime Top up
    5. Select operator
    6. Select To Other Number
    7. Select New beneficiary
    8. Select the operator (check with receiver if unsure)
    9. Enter the mobile number
    10. Enter the beneficiary nick name (max 10 characters)
    11. Press 1 to confirm details
    12. You will see a confirmation screen
  • Electricity

    1. Dial  *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Choose main menu option
    4. Choose pay bill
    5. Select register a biller
    6. Select LUKU
    7. Enter meter number
    8. Enter the beneficiary nick name (max 10 characters)
    9. Confirm adding new beneficiary
    10. You will see a confirmation screen
  • Fund transfer to an Absa account

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Select main menu option
    4. Select Funds transfer
    5. Select register beneficiary
    6. Select Absa A/C
    7. Enter beneficiary account number(without branch code)
    8. Enter branch code
    9. Select branch name
    10. Enter beneficiary nick name (max 10 characters)
    11. Press 1 to confirm
    12. You will see a confirmation screen
How to buy electricity and top up airtime
  • How to buy electricity

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Select main menu option
    4. Select Pay bills
    5. Select pay a registered biller (if you ever saved the meter number before) or select make a one-off payment
    6. Select the biller nick name from the saved list or if you chose one-off payment, select either LUKU or IBE
    7. Enter meter number for one-off payment
    8. Enter bill amount
    9. Select the account to be debited
    10. Review transaction details
    11. Press 1 to confirm transaction
    12. You see a confirmation screen.
    13. You receive a token via SMS
  • How to top up airtime

    For your own number:

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Select main menu options
    4. Select buy airtime top-up
    5. Select your network operator
    6. Select your own number
    7. Enter amount you wish to top up
    8. Select the account you would like to debit
    9. Confirm transaction
    10. You will see a transaction confirmation screen

     

    For another number:

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Select main menu option
    4. Select Airtime Top up
    5. Select to other number
    6. Select once-off (if number is not a saved beneficiary) or saved beneficiary
    7. Enter mobile number (for once-off) or select payee nickname from the list of saved beneficiaries
    8. Enter the amount you wish to top up
    9. Select the account you would like to debit
    10. Confirm transaction
    11. You will see a transaction confirmation screen
How to transfer funds and send cash
  • How to do a fund transfer (Absa to Absa)

    1. Dial *150*20#
    2. Enter mobile banking PIN
    3. Select main menu option
    4. Select Funds transfer
    5. Select To other Absa account
    6. Select registered (If beneficiary is registered)
    7. Select the beneficiary from the list of saved beneficiaries
    8. Enter amount to be transferred
    9. Select account to transfer from
    10. Press 1 to confirm the transaction
    11. You see a confirmation screen and receive an SMS
  • How to transfer to mobile wallet

    1. Dial *150*20#  and enter PIN
    2. Select main menu option
    3. Select M-Wallet
    4. Select destination wallet network provider
    5. Select wallet to transfer funds to (to own number or to other mobile number)
    6. Select either once-off or saved beneficiary (for already saved beneficiary)
    7. Enter the number you wish to send money to for once-off transaction or select the saved beneficiary nickname from the saved list of beneficiaries
    8. Enter amount you wish to transfer
    9. Select account you would like to transfer from
    10. Confirm the transaction
